This is Turov on Timing for Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
After the close yesterday, Amazon came out with much lower than expected earnings. The stock tanked. Futures sold off. And then the stock recovered, and futures went to a premium.
I’ve been quoted in over a hundred publications saying, “Ignorance is not knowing something. Stupidity is not admitting ignorance.”
Well, I don’t know why the overnight market is acting the way it is, and I refuse to be stupid about that. So I’m going to wait until the market opens, see what the self-proclaimed cognoscenti are saying, and then consider those comments and how they jive (or don’t jive) with both my indicators and my own thoughts. So for now, stand aside.
Thanks for the opportunity to be of service, and I’ll email you again in a few hours.
