This is Turov on Timing for Monday, May 2, 2011.
My regular email@example.com address is working, but it is being used for another purpose by an assistant. That’s why this message is coming from this address.
The SPX advanced 3.13 points Friday to close at 1363.61. TOT daily traders went 300% long at SPX 1353.86 on Thursday and took profits on that position at SPX 1359.77 Friday. We then went 400% short at SPX 1360.58 and covered that position on the close. Simultaneously, we went 200% long and have carried that position over the weekend and into today.
Since initiation of the Turov on Timing service on September 30, 1993, our daily trader recommendations have gained 12386.74 cumulative SPX points, compared to a gain of 904.68 points in the index itself over the same period. That’s a ratio of 13.69 to one.
The super long term perspective for the stock market remains bearish (as it has been since January 2000 after having been bullish from December 1974 until then). When the current cyclical bull market ends, expect another nasty crash to perhaps finally bring an end to the long term bear market that began in 2000.
The Intermediate Term Model remains bullish.
TOT daily traders come into today’s session 200% long. Increase that to 400% long by going an additional 200% long at SPX 1364 stop; 1369 limit or at SPX 1359 limit, whichever comes first. Use a protective stop 10 points below the opening on both units (assuming the second pair gets done), as reported by www.bigcharts.com.
IMPORTANT: I have been fighting food poisoning all weekend. I will update intraday, as and if able. If I am not able to update, then close out the position on the close.
Thanks for the opportunity to be of service, and I will do my best to be in touch today.
