Daniel Turov’s biography appears in numerous editions of Marquis’ Who’s Who In America1 and Who’s Who in the World1. Known to many Wall Street professionals, his December 9, 1974 Barron’s article, “Buy Signal”2, predicted a major new bull market. That very day, the Dow Jones Industrials hit its bear market low of 575.20. He patiently waited over 25 years to write the coda to that article, and Barron’s published “Sell Signal”2 on January 3, 2000. The Dow hit its 20th Century high of 11,722.98 the following week.
In 1994, he was named “Supertrader of Wall Street” by the Stock Trader’s Almanac.3 In 2001, he was named “Supertrader of the Millennium” by the Stock Trader’s Almanac.3 He’s been a Securities and Exchange Commission Registered Investment Advisor and a member of the National Futures Association and is licensed by the State of California as a Life agent. Since 1993, he’s authored Turov on Timing5, a monthly and daily publication specializing in stock market timing. Turov Investment Group Inc. (as a corporation) and Daniel Turov (as an individual) are California licensed Registered Investment Advisers. Investors from all 50 U.S. states and most foreign nations are welcomed as clients.
After receiving an Economics degree from The City College of New York, he was associated for 18 years with several major Wall Street brokerage firms. This included six years as a Senior Vice President and nine years as a senior research analyst publishing Turov on Investments and Hedging, Turov on Warrants and Convertibles, and The Option Commentator. He also authored the chapter on warrants and options for the Financial Analyst’s Handbook4 (Dow Jones-Irwin). He’s written 16 articles2 for Barron’s, The New York Times, and The Financial Analysts Journal and has been on the faculty of the New York Institute of Finance and The New School for Social Research. In the May 21, 2001 issue of Barron’s, entitled “Mixed Message”2 he forecast twenty years of a market which was neither bull nor bear but rather a “mixed message” vacillating both above and below Dow 10,000. Since then the Dow has traded in a range of 6547 to over 20000.
Mr. Turov was a panel member in The Wall Street Transcript’s Option Roundtable and appeared as a special guest on TV station WKID’s “Financial Roundtable”. Mr. Turov was interviewed by CNN on January 6, 2000. That CNN interview may be viewed on this website’s Home Page.
He’s been a speaker at many seminars including several sponsored by Tax Angles, Professional Investor, and The Institute for Econometric Research. He won first prize in National Enquirer’s 1991 Readers Predictions Contest, accurately predicting the dissolution of the Soviet Union and initiation of Mid-East peace talks, among other correct forecasts.
